Default Feedback
A co-worker is writing a book and this is a rough draft of his brochure. I told him I would put it out here for feedback. Yes, he is non-denominational and uses several versions. I am working on him there. Still, he brings out some points that are valid and even we IFBs might need to make sure our focus is correct when it comes to sin or victory. Anyway, look at the premise and give the lad feedback. I told him IFBs would be his toughest crowd. ;-) FYI, they nearly burned him at the stake at his non-denom church over this. I have been trying to help him to tweak it but his premise is fairly sound and seeking holiness is not a bad thing.

God Expects Perfect!

Look at one time free choice results!

Lucifer 1 sin = thrown out of heaven and 1/3 of the angels with him!
Adam 1 sin =removed from the garden!
It’s your move!
God sent his Son to get rid of a sin nature that lives inside you. Receive His gift and be free from the power of sin!

FIRST RECEIVE GOD’S SON
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV)
Repent from the old nature of sin and receive Jesus. Did you? GREAT! now God sends His holy Spirit and you are holy. Whats next? Learn the facts of who you are now. You are dead to sin!
Galatians 5:24“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.”
2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.”
NOW YOU WILL BE TEMPTED not by you but, by a devil , God will allow His power to have the total victory each time. Tempted yes! Sin don’t but recognize at temptation.

List of who you are in Christ

Galatians 5:22,23
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, against such is no law.”

List of who you are NOT in Christ

Galatians 5:19-21
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, revelries and the like ...

Who you fight against

Ephesians 6:10….
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Welcome to the GAME. God allows you as a Christian to be tempted only by a fallen angel and, gives you a way of escape each time, be a Total Victory Perspective example to the world!

What to do when tempted by devil in area (DIA)
1 Corinthians 10:13“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” and 2 Cor 10:3-5 Take captive every thought and make it obedient to Jesus

GOD’S REACTION TO SIN
Here is a little overview of God’s reaction to sin:
Lucifer’s one sin resulted in his-being cast out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels.
Adam’s one sin resulted in his removal from the Garden of Eden, and the world was turned over to sin.
God flooded the whole world in judgment of sin but saved Noah and his family in the ark he had built.
God sent fire and brimstone down to destroy the sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
God moved mightily on Ananias and Sapphira, his wife, when He struck them down immediately for lying to the Holy Spirit ONE TIME!
As far as I can see, God ALWAYS wants us to be holy (pure, no sin).
1Peter 1:15….”be holy for I am holy”

God is extreme against sin! The whole world was turned over to a sin nature after Adams one sin. You need to get rid of something God hates! God sent His Son one time to get rid of a sin nature that lives inside. Accepting Jesus as your payment for the sin, and he will crucify the sin nature and give you a NEW NATURE!

I'm really not sure what he's saying here. Especially the last sentence.

Quote:
Lucifer’s one sin resulted in his-being cast out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels.
The angels were not cast out because of Lucifer's sin, but rather because of their own sin.

I think that the pamphlet is good. My only concern with pamphlets like this, especially if they are aimed at the lost is that it ends up being a discouragement. People think, well I can't be perfect so why bother. Or they think that the Christians that they see aren't perfect, so Christianity must be hypocritical. Cause none of us is going to be perfect this side of eternity.

Just my 2 cents.

"NOW YOU WILL BE TEMPTED not by you but, by a devil , God will allow His power to have the total victory each time. Tempted yes! Sin don’t but recognize at temptation."

He believes that temptation only comes from the devil, an external source, not an internal source like your sin nature because it was crucified with Christ.

"Lucifer’s one sin resulted in his-being cast out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels."

He agrees. I told him he needs to rephrase to clarify.

So he believes in the doctrine of sinless perfection (in this life)?

I guess the sentence that doesn't make sense to me is
Quote:
Sin don’t but recognize at temptation
Does he mean don't sin, but recognize as a temptation? The sentence itself doesn't make any sense.

Re: Mavmin > Feedback

Aloha brother,

You asked for some “feedback” so here goes. I am in agreement with you when you say: “Seeking holiness is not a bad thing”, as a matter of Scriptural fact - it is a “good thing” [1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.]; but in the course of “seeking holiness” – if someone changes the word of God or makes it say (or mean) something other than what it says that’s an evil thing.

These WARNINGS are found near the:

Front of The Bible:

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Middle of The Bible:

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

End of The Bible:

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

There can be no doubt as to the "meaning" of these WARNINGS! ! !

Man is commanded NOT to:

#1 ADD to the WORDS OF GOD!

#2 SUBTRACT from the WORDS OF GOD!

#3 CHANGE the WORDS OF GOD!

The first thing your “friend” has done is - he has embraced a corrupt bible, from which he is determined to “instruct” the rest of us in “thethingsofGod” [1Corinthians 2:10-11]. He then goes on to make some declarative statements:

Quote:
God Expects Perfect!
IF God "expects" perfect - He has only seen it once in 6,000 years of recorded human history! God DEMANDS perfect {because HE is PERFECT and HOLY} - knowing full well that in our flesh we cannot possibly meet His demands, hence our "need" for a SAVIOUR! Who, in the Bible, besides the Lord Jesus Christ ,was ever perfectly sinless? Hmmm? NO ONE! [Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;]

Quote:
List of who you are in Christ

Galatians 5:22,23
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, against such is no law.” [
Corrupt bible]

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. {KJV - NOTICE THE CHANGES?}

Quote:
List of who you are NOT in Christ

Galatians 5:19-21
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, revelries and the like ... [
Corrupt bible]

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. {KJV - NOTICE THE CHANGES?}

In addition to changing the holy words of God, the above “lists” are NOTwho you are in Christ”, they are simply “lists” describing the “fruit of the spirit” and “the works of the flesh”! You cannot make them into “something else” unless you have a preconceived idea and are trying to make the Scriptures “fit” into your private interpretation - in order to establish a “new” or “different” doctrine.

Those of us who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and have been saved (born again) through Christ’s Sacrifice and have received Him as our personal Savior are:

“one body in Christ” {Romans 12:5}
“in Him” {1Corinthians 8:6}
“are ambassadors for Christ” {2Corinthians 5:20}
“in him that is true, even in his son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” {`1John 5:20}
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” { Ephesians 2:10}

NOTICE: We are NOT referred to as being: “fruit” or “works” – although we SHOULD have both in our lives. {“we are his workmanship” – we are a work in progress, and will not attain unto perfection {Philippians 3:12} until we see our Savior face to face and obtain our new bodies (like unto His) {1Corinthians 15:49; 1Corinthians 13:9-12}

Not only does your “friend” use a corrupt bible (which adds to; subtracts from; and changes God’s words) - Your “friend’s” first premise” is unscriptural and so all that follows will be false and miss-leading. (It’s no wonder that Michelle couldn’t understand what he is trying to say.)

Your “friend” then goes on to say:

Quote:
Who you fight against

Ephesians 6:10….For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. [Corrupt bible]

Ephesians
6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

{KJV - NOTICE THE CHANGES?}

Quote:
Welcome to the GAME. God allows you as a Christian to be tempted only by a fallen angel and, gives you a way of escape each time, be a Total Victory Perspective example to the world!”
Welcome to the GAME.”? We are NOT in a “GAME” – we are in a “WAR”!

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Why would any Bible believing Christian “think” that this WAR that we are in - is a “GAME”? Hmmm? Is this the kind of a “conclusion” one reaches when one uses a “corrupt” bible? Is this an indication of a “Novice” [1Timothy 3:6] trying to instruct the brethren about something that he obviously knows little about?

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Your friend lacks spiritual discernment, understanding, and wisdom (which can only be gotten from God – 1Corinthians 2:1-16) when it comes to our “State” and our “Standing” with God; and with our “dual” nature (we still have the “old man”Romans 6:6; Ephesians 4:22; Colossians 3:9). God has not given to us a “new” heart – NOT YET! We still have the old heart that is:

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Ecclesiastes 9:3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

If your “friend” does not realize that “his heart” is unchanged and that “he”, like all the rest of us, can be deceived by “his own heart”, then “he” is blind to his own fallen nature, and is being misled - not necessarily by Satan alone, but by “his own heart”! Should he doubt what I have said, have him check out my 250 page study on the heart at: Thy Word Is Truth | . . . yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, . . . Romans 3:4 Just in case your “friend” fails or refuses to investigate the true “fallen nature” of all mankind (Male & Female – Lost or Saved) the following brief outline will demonstrate that we are far more complicated than your “friend” is aware of:

MAN IS A SPIRITUAL BEING IN A PHYSICAL BODY
A man (and a woman) is made up of three (3) parts (“Attributes”) - which constitute our “SUBSTANCE”. Besides our “PHYSICAL BODY” [“Substance”] – we also possess a “SOUL” [“Substance”]; and a “SPIRIT” [“Substance”].

THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE SOUL {Our Essence}
According to the Scriptures the soul is that substance within a man or a woman, which is created at the moment of birth, (when the body receives the spirit) and which is the very essence of their being. The soul within a man or woman is that substance that distinguishes mankind from all of the other living creatures in God’s creation. The soul is that substance which separates an individual from every other individual and makes them unique.

THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE SPIRIT {Our Life}
According to the Scriptures the spirit (pertaining only to mankind) is that substance [which is given by God] within a man or woman wherein our very life resides i.e. the spirit is life itself. In the Bible the spirit is separate and distinct from the heart and the soul in purpose, though it may have some similar characteristics.

In addition to our “SUBSTANCE” – All men (and women) also possess an additional Three parts (“Attributes”) that make up our “FACULTIES” – Our HEART [“Faculty”]; Our MIND [“Faculty”]; and Our CONSCIENCE [“Faculty”].

THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE HEART {Our Motivator}
The heart is that faculty within a man or woman which is the center or seat of our thoughts, meditations, considerations, perceptions, concepts, counsels, reasoning, understanding, beliefs, imaginations, doubts,fears, intents, desires (affections - emotions), and pride. The heart is where the will resides and operates.

THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE MIND {Our Facilitator}
According to the Scriptures the mind is that faculty within a man or woman wherein our intellect or intelligence resides. In the Bible the mind is separate and distinct from the heart in purpose, although sometimes similar in function and operation.

THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE CONSCIENCE {Our Regulator}
According to the Scriptures the conscience is that faculty within a man or woman wherein resides the awareness of right and wrong (good and evil), and which influences the heart and mind as to the lawfulness or unlawfulness of our own affections & actions. According to the Scriptures the human heart and conscience are separate and distinct from each other in purpose and in operation.

NOTICE:Five (5) of the six (6) attributes of man are spiritual – you can not see them; hear them; taste them; smell them; or touch them, and yet these attributes are as real as our physical bodies.

Your “friend” goes on to say:

Quote:
What to do when tempted by devil in area (DIA)

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” and 2 Cor 10:3-5
[Corrupt bible]

Take captive every thought and make it obedient to Jesus
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. {KJV - NOTICE THE CHANGES?}

In this WAR that we are in, we must beware of not only Satan and his evil spirits; we must also beware of our own sinful flesh:

The Flesh
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Mark 14:38Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Galatians 4:14And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

In this WAR that we are in we must beware of not only Satan and his evil spirits, we must also beware of the world:

The World
Matthew 13:22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

1Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

And then there is the devil (Satan):

The Devil (Satan)
2Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2Corinthians 11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

1Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

2Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Just because those of us who have believed on and received the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior are born again – it doesn’t mean that we are totally without sin (“sinless” - 1 John 1:8). We don’t automaticallywalk in newness of life” {Romans 6:4}. We can still get our feet dirty {John 13:10} As a matter of fact the following list illustrates what can happen to a person, any person, (man or woman – lost or saved ) when they deliberately choose to reject; or go against; or turn away from; or ignore God’s words:

The Heart Can:
  • Be Hardened (John 12:40)
  • Be Darkened (Romans 1:21)
  • Be Blinded (Ephesians 4:18)
Become EVIL (Hebrews 3:12)

The Scriptural “Remedy” Is:
{Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.}

[Space prohibits me from listing many more verses concerning this matter.]

The Conscience Can:
  • Be defiled (Titus 1:15)
  • Be seared (1Timothy 4:2)
Become EVIL (Hebrews 10:22)

The Scriptural “Remedy” Is:
{Acts 24:16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.}

[Space prohibits me from listing many more verses concerning this matter.]

The Mind Can:
  • Become corrupt (2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 6:5; 2 Timothy 3:8)
  • Be blinded (2 Corinthians 3:14; 2 Corinthians 4:4)
  • Become carnal (Romans 8:6-7)
  • Be alienated (Colossi ans 1:21)
  • Become defiled (Titus 1:15)
  • Become reprobate (Romans 1:28; 2 Timothy 3:8)
Become EVIL (Acts 14:2)

The Scriptural “Remedy” Is:
[Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.]

God knows every single thing that goes through our minds [Ezekiel 11:5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, everyone of them.],and He has provided His saints with power to overcome the world; the flesh; and the devil; but we must “access” this power – it is not just an “automatic process”. Just like we Christians are not immune to the laws of Nature (gravity, etc.), we are not immune from the immutable laws of God concerning “sowing & reaping”:
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The New Testament Saint’s mind has been changed (altered). In addition to our own mind we now have the “Mind of Christ” (1Corinthians 2:16). However we have to let His Mind be in us (Philippians 2:5); and we have to arm ourselves with His Mind (1 Peter 4:1), in order to have His Mind become effective in our lives.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

[Again - Space prohibits me from listing many more verses concerning this matter.]

I covered the “mind” more thoroughly (but not exhaustively) because, although we are all born with a deceitful heart, our minds begin with a “blank slate”. It takes the world; the flesh; and the devil to “corrupt” our minds! Our hearts are naturally deceitful, but we have to “receive instruction”, or “learn” to “corrupt” our minds – hence the media; entertainment; religion & philosophy; Humanism (psychiatry, psychology, etc.); “Science”; etc.; and especially (first and foremost) “schooling” & “education”. [2Corinthians 11:3; Colossians 2:8; 1Timothy 6:20; 1Peter 1:18]

If your “friend” is trying to write a book on “sinless perfection” in a Christian, perhaps he should check out the writings of the “Wesleyan Methodists”; the “Nazarenes”; or the numerous “Holiness” (Charismatic – Pentecostal) authors, who probably have already written more about the subject (and most of it unscriptural) than your “friend” can imagine. From the tiny bit of information you supplied, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if your “friend” has a Pentecostal or Charismatic background, or has Pentecostal-Charismatic “leanings”.

What your “friend” needs to do is read through the Book of Romans and the Book of Galatians (at least 25 times or more) if he wants to even begin to understand about the dual nature of the believer; our state; our standing; and our relationship to God the Father and with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks - but NO THANKS! We don't need another "navigational tool" to "help" us "understand the Bible" - The Seventh Day Adventists; the Mormons; the Jehovah's witnesses; the Cambellites; the Roman Catholics; and all CULTS have their "Navigational Tools". On the other hand - we (those of us who are born again - regenerated by the Spirit Of God) have a Holy, inspired, perfect, infallible Bible and the Holy Spirit of God living within us "to help us understand the Bible".
